About Lucie Jones
Hi, I'm Lucie Jones, I'm 18 and from a small village called Pentyrch just outside Cardiff.
My little village has a couple of hundred people living in, we've got a village hall and a shop and that's it.
I've got the whole village behind me for the competition, their all rooting for me.
It is my ticket to progress and move on from the little village ontop of the hill, with all the sheep.
X Factor 2009 is the most important stage of my life so far and that's without exception.
X Factor Live Finals Show 2
18 October 2009
This weekend saw the contestants battle it out once again to remain in the live finals of this years X Factor competition. The theme was diva and with Whitney Housten making an appearance a number of the contestants chose to sing Whitney's songs.
Lucie Jones - "How Will I Know" (Whitney Houston)
Miss Frank - "All the Man That I Need" (Whitney Houston)
Joe McElderry - "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" (Whitney Houston)
Danyl Johnson - "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" (Whitney Houston)
The rest of the contestants all sang songs related to Divas. The twins, John and Edward did 'a' performance of Britney Spear's "Oops I did it again" in tight leather suites. Surprisingly enough this didn't wow the judges with Simon Cowell comparing it to the first time he saw The Exorcist.
Lucie Jones sang How Will I Know, which as usual the judges enjoyed and gave positive reviews. Simon did give her a slight criticism but it was related to her not hitting the original high notes which made the song exceptional for Whitney. He gave similar criticism last week when she performed Leona's song. If Dannii decides to pick Lucie a song that reflects her ability better next week then we may see a truly amazing performance with Lucie and the Big Bands week.
Another highlight of the week was Cheryl Cole making her first live solo appearance without her band members of Girls Aloud. The live audience which included Girls Aloud and her husband Ashley Cole loved the performance and Dermot o'Leary cheekily asked Simon for a review.. Simon saluted his approval and had to admit she would be number on in the UK charts this week with "Fight for this Love".
Congratulations once again Lucie Jones, our support is with you!
